Est. 2021 · Longmont, Colorado
Foxfire Mushrooms began with a single fruiting chamber, a decade of foraging the Front Range, and one stubborn belief: anyone can grow gourmet mushrooms when they start with truly clean cultures and honest guidance.

Lots contamination-tested
Every batch is grown under sterile technique and checked for contamination before it ever ships. If we wouldn't grow from it, we won't sell it.
We grow in small runs so each culture gets attention. You taste — and grow — the difference between craft and commodity.
We back every living product with a live arrival guarantee and real human help. Stuck on a grow? We answer — that's what consultations are for.
Owner & Head Mycologist
Scott Brenton is the owner and head mycologist of Foxfire Mushrooms, LLC. He holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental science and a master’s degree in conservation ecology, both from the University of Michigan — and brings 17+ years of founder’s expertise to every product we ship.
Scott moved to Colorado from Michigan in 2018 and founded Foxfire Mushrooms in Longmont in 2021 with a clear goal: supply fresh, healthy food to local markets, and give growers everywhere the supplies and knowledge they need to grow mushrooms at any scale.

To supply fresh, healthy food to local markets — and provide people with the supplies and knowledge base required to grow mushrooms at any scale. Beyond cultivation, Foxfire is committed to expanding access to functional mushroom products for anyone seeking to improve their health and wellness.
We’re proud to be a Longmont company. We deliver fresh harvests to local kitchens and markets, host the occasional grow workshop, and ship cultivation supplies to growers across the country.
When you buy from Foxfire, you’re supporting a small Colorado team that genuinely loves this craft — and wants you to succeed at it too.
